Research

Research is one of the foundations for the inspiration of our designs. We need to know what's happening in the world to offer the product our clients need. Our creative team achieves this by attending sessions on digital fashion platforms and trend trips around the world, resulting in unique pieces with artisanal value.

The creative process for a Cuadra product collection may vary depending on market needs, but here we can provide a general overview: research, concept, sketches, define work plan, material selection, model creation, sample creation and collection launch.

We start by researching, an essential for a successful ready to go collection, involves looking at the latest fashion trends, market needs, to understand what designs will be in demand and what our customers expect from Cuadra as a brand.

Concept & sketches

Based on research, we develop concepts for our collection. We create different schematics, visualize ideas using specialized software, and create images to convey our vision of the collection. Then we begin to shape our models by creating hyper-realistic graphic representations of our products to have a preliminary overview of what our collection will look like. Sketches are an essential component of any collection as they serve as the initial blueprint for each design. During the sketching process, our designers use their imagination and creativity to develop unique concepts that capture the essence of our brand, that are both visually appealing and functional. 

Once the sketches are complete, they are reviewed and revised by the design team until they are refined to the point where they accurately represent the vision of the collection. These sketches are then used as a reference point for the next stage in the process, where the designs are transformed into actual products. Overall, sketches are a critical aspect of the collection creation process as they provide a foundation for the entire design process, ensuring that each piece is thoughtfully created and executed.

Work plan & material selection

Once the concepts and sketches have been created, we have the foundation to put together a collection. At this stage, we proceed to develop a work plan to bring the concepts from sketches to reality. We select the materials needed to highlight the elegance and quality of each piece in the collection.

We also study materials, colors, and textures to ensure that our shoes not only look good but also feel comfortable and durable. By doing this, we can develop concepts and ideas that are both innovative and practical. In addition, we frequently consult with experts in the field to stay up to date with the latest technological advances and design techniques, like our EXTRALIGHT® sole shoes made of EVA, a thermoplastic polymer recognized for its lightness and comfort. Or our goodyear welt construction method for boots used in high-quality boots. Creation begins

Once sketches are approved and the plan is established, our team of artisans begins the process of turning those designs into tangible products, to create models of each piece in the collection. Sample creation is a crucial step in the shoe collection creation process, this is where we can see if the ideas and concepts created at the beginning are viable in reality. Using the sketches as a guide, When the model is ready, they carefully select the appropriate materials, taking into consideration factors such as durability, comfort, and aesthetics. Subsequently, each piece is cut and processed by expert hands using artisanal techniques, paying close attention to every detail, from the stitching to the finish.

Once the sample is complete, it undergoes rigorous testing to ensure that it meets our high standards for quality and performance. This process may involve wear testing to evaluate the shoe's comfort and durability, as well as visual inspection to ensure that the design accurately reflects the initial sketch. Any necessary adjustments are made, and a final sample is produced. Once the samples are approved, they are used as the basis for mass production, ensuring that every shoe in the collection meets our high standards for quality and design.
